I get asked this A LOT. So here it goes. If your theme does not have a way for people to “ask” or “submit” questions, it is very simple to add. The link to the “Ask Me Anything” page is whatever your tumblr url is, /ask.

For example, if you wanted to ask me a question on my personal blog, you could go to:

http://parkerehret.com/ask

However, if you would like to add a link to your page manually, just copy and paste the following code, and add it to the description of your blog.

<a href="/ask">ask me anything</a>

That’s it.

If that doesn’t work, then the theme you are using probably doesn’t have the code that allows people to ask a question. In my case, a lot of my themes were submitted well before tumblr added that functionality, I will be updating all of my themes very soon.

UPDATED: Also, if you’re using any custom HTML in your theme, when a theme gets updated, your tumblog will not be updated unless you “Disable Custom HTML” under the “Theme” tab on the “Customize” page. However, if you decide to ”Disable Custom HTML”, you will lose any custom HTML you’ve added.

UPDATED AGAIN: You may also want to try clicking on “Customize” then clicking on “Community” and then making sure that the box that is labeled “Let people ask questions” is checked. If that box isn’t checked, people can’t ask you questions.

It has a static sidebar so your tumblog description and information can be displayed while you’re scrolling infinitely through an individually organized posts in a narrow, centered blog format. infinite scroll

Infinite Scroll is something that is swiffering the blogosphere. Instead of continuing to click “next page” over and over, it just loads the next page for you as you scroll down the page you are on.

If you use tumblr and want your blog to have this feature, follow these easy steps…

Copy the following code:

Next, go to the dashboard on your tumblr, click “Customize”. Go to the top menu, click on “Theme”, then click on “Use Custom HTML”.

All the code from you blog should appear in the window.

Paste the code at the bottom of the <head>:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://static.tumblr.com/q0etgkr/mFbkoqlkr/tumblrautopager.js"></script>
</head>

Again, the code that you pasted should be the very last thing before the </head> tag.

Save. Refresh. Scroll Infinitely.
